Tre Spade #32 Sausage Funnel Hog 20mm

Sausage funnel for the Tre Spade #32 mincer. 20mm outlet, made in Italy.

20mm is the hog casing size. It suits natural hog casings in the 28/32mm and 32/36mm range, which covers most thick sausages: snags, bratwurst, Italian sausage, anything going on a barbecue or in a pan.

The #32 is the largest mincer in the range and it is bought for volume. At that size the bottleneck stops being the machine and becomes how fast one person can handle casings, which is the point most people start filling with a dedicated stuffer instead and keep the mincer for mincing.

Match the number to your mincer

Funnels are cut to the mincer they bolt onto. A #32 funnel fits a #32 mincer and will not fit a #8, #12 or #22. The number is usually cast into the mincer head or stamped on the collar. If you cannot find it, measure the inside diameter of the mincer throat and send us the number.

The other size

How it is used

Filling through a mincer means removing the blade and plate first and fitting the spacer, then feeding pre-minced meat through. The mincer is not cutting at this stage, only pushing. Meat that has already been through the plate once fills far more evenly than meat going through for the first time.

Care

Wash and dry straight after use rather than leaving it to soak. Dry it fully before it goes back in the drawer.
