Spacer bar for the Tre Spade #32 mincer. The part that turns the mincer into a sausage filler.
What it actually does
It replaces the knife and the plate. With those out and the spacer in, the mincer stops cutting and simply pushes, giving the meat a clear path through to the funnel.
The #32 is the largest mincer in the range, and at that size the machine will push through a mistake faster than you can react to it. Running without the spacer means the whole batch gets minced a second time on its way out, the fat smears, and the texture is gone before you have finished the first length of casing.
Match the number to your mincer
This is cut for the #32 and will not fit a #12 or #22. The number is usually cast into the mincer head or stamped on the collar. If you cannot find it, measure the inside diameter of the mincer throat and send us the number.
What else you need
A spacer on its own does not fill a sausage. You also need a funnel sized to the casing you are using: 10mm for sheep casings, 20mm for hog casings. The #32 Sausage Funnel Kit brings both funnels and this spacer together in one purchase.
Care
Wash and dry straight after use rather than leaving it to soak, and dry it fully before it goes back in the drawer with the plates.
