Why the spacer matters

To fill through a mincer you take the blade and plate out and fit the spacer in their place. Without it the mincer keeps cutting while you are trying to fill, which smears the mince, works the fat, and gives you a poor texture in the finished sausage. The spacer is the part people most often do not realise they need, which is why it is in the kit.

Both casing sizes covered

• 10mm funnel for sheep casings around 22/24mm: chipolatas, thin breakfast sausage, cheerios
• 20mm funnel for hog casings in the 28/32mm and 32/36mm range: snags, bratwurst, Italian sausage

The #32 is the largest mincer in the range and it is bought for volume. Anyone running one is usually processing enough in a session to want both casing types covered without a second order.

Match the number to your mincer

This kit is cut for the #32 mincer and will not fit a #8, #12 or #22. The number is usually cast into the mincer head or stamped on the collar. If you cannot find it, measure the inside diameter of the mincer throat and send us the number and we will confirm before you buy.

Care

Wash and dry all three pieces straight after use rather than leaving them to soak, and dry them fully before storing.
